Concrete Progress...
What an exciting week!
Today, Thursday, the masons finalized the concrete forms, added the rebar for strength... and in the afternoon the trucks came to pour the concrete for the slab and outline of the Mikvah.
This the first of several concrete phases, but so very exciting B'H - kain yirbu!

Groundbreaking Ceremony
OK so this post is horribly and very unfashionably late. Very Very sorry about that...
The Sunday after Simchas Torah, on October 11, our community came together to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of our Mikvah.
Our Community Rabbis spoke and led Tehillim - we were warmed by the words of Rabbi Blass, Rabbi Cheshir and Rabbi Twersky, and Tehillim by Rabbi Levitan.
Delicious refreshments were provided by the Women's committee headed by Malki Fisher.
Thank you all for your support - and here's a link to photos
PS -
We also have CDs available with two classes by Rav Sobolofsky explaining how a Mikvah is built and the challenges we face, halachically and practically.
You can also listen to the Shiurim Here:

B'H - Village Approves the Mikvah !
On June 24th, the Planning Board of Wesley Hills issued a resolution (full text here) :
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said application for a revised special permit to allow the proposed Mikvah on the subject premises is hereby granted
and with those words, B'Chasdei Hashem, we now have approval to build the Mikvah.
...for which we need to raise about $200K, and we turn to you for your help.
Thank you and Tizku LeMitzvos!
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said application for a revised special permit to allow the proposed Mikvah on the subject premises is hereby granted
and with those words, B'Chasdei Hashem, we now have approval to build the Mikvah.
Now we move on to the next step, making sure we have enough money to get the building up before the winter. This entails a complicated foundation with boros, the water collection system and other such complexities...
...for which we need to raise about $200K, and we turn to you for your help.
If every family can do whatever you can - every dollar helps of course. Please send a minimum of $500 - if you are able to help with more, please review the dedication list and do whatever you can.
email us at info@wesleyMikvah.org and we'll respond ASAP.
You can donate online or send checks to Mikvah, c/o 21 Roble Road, Suffern NY 10901

ZBA Approval of Variances
Dear Friends,
B'H we had a ZBA meeting this evening where, to my eyes, the hand of Hashem was manifest quite openly.
B'H we had a ZBA meeting this evening where, to my eyes, the hand of Hashem was manifest quite openly.
Thank you to all who sent in Mikvah Support Letters - they made all the difference.
B'Chasdei Hashem, the ZBA approved our 3 variances.
This is a HUGE Step forward, but we're not done yet.
The next step with the village is a Planning Board meeting on June 24th, at 7:30 where we are number 2 on the agenda.
Let's keep davening !!!

The first public meeting will be on Wednesday the 29th. There will be a second one next month
- Planning Board meeting on April 29th @ 7:30 pm
The Mikvah needs a strong show of support to help it pass in the village. We never know who might show up to oppose us and therefore we are asking of you the following:
1) Please send a letter of support for the Mikvah (see sample below- you can use the same or similar text) - and email it to us at info@wesleymikvah.org
2) If you can attend the meetings, that would be wonderful - we need people to come in a show of support, and
3) If you think you’d like to volunteer and speak at the meeting, please email us atinfo@wesleymikvah.org - we’re looking for 3-5 speakers to help make our case.
Thank you and Tizku LeMitzvos!
Sincerely
Mikvah Committee

Dear Distinguished Board Members:
I am writing in support of the Mikvah and urge you to please approve this project as soon as possible.
Our growing community needs this Mikvah for use on Friday nights and Jewish Holidays.
We require a Mikvah within reasonable walking distance of our homes. At present, we need to walk an hour or more in the dark nighttime roads, a journey made even more treacherous and difficult during the long the winter months.
I therefore kindly request that you grant the approvals needed for this project to move forward quickly.
Sincerely,
